November 2009 - Property of the Month
Located in Richmond, VT, Camp Twin Hills features a winterized cabin, 8 lean-to shelters and a pavilion. There are two large playing fields that provide plenty of program opportunities. During the summer Twin Hills offers two weeks of day camp to local girls.
Last month, a troop from Madbury, NH, spent an overnight at Twin Hills. They titled their trip the "Graveyard Tour" with perfect timing the weekend before Halloween. The troop started their day at the Rock of Ages quarry. After their tour of the quarry, they stopped at the nearby Hope Cemetery. One of the girls had read about the cemetery in a book titled "Weird New England." This cemetery has some of the craziest head stones in a cemetery. After the cemetery, the group went on a tour at Cabot Creamery and then stopped at Ben and Jerry's, where they spent time in the Flavor Graveyard.
Their leader said, "The girls loved the Pixie Cabin and are already talking about returning. It was the perfect place to camp on a rainy night in late October."
